We knew the Samsung ATIV S was pushed back to December and now we are learning the at least one retailer is expecting inventory available on December 13th.
Expansys U.K. is expecting the ATIV S due on December 13th at a price of £449.99. You can find the Samsung ATIV S Expansys listing here. Additionally, it is our understanding that the HTC 8S will become available through Expansys U.K. on December 5th for £239.99. The HTC 8S Expansys listing can be found here.
Rogers has unveiled pricing for its Samsung ATIV S, according to images sent in to MobileSyrup. The Canadian carrier announced the ATIV S last month, and now it's been confirmed to be priced at $149.99 on a 3-year plan. The Windows Phone is also listed at $599.99 month-to-month.
The HTC 8X, Nokia Lumias and Samsung ATIV S are to be pushed by the carrier TIM in Italy. The latter is priced at €599 and is subsidised by TIM on the 300 €20/month plan or €10/month with the All Inclusive 700/1500 plan. Both are 30 month contracts, which is a little over the two year deals we are generally used to in Europe.
Despite being one of the first Windows Phone 8 devices we saw unveiled the ATIV S has still managed to arrive the late to the Windows Phone 8 launch line up.
The device has plenty of people interested in its 4.8” AMOLED screen, slender body and expandable base memory but where can one be ordered from? Future Shop seem like they might be able to offer some help to lucky Canadians who don’t mind signing up for a three year contract to nab a device for $50.

AdDuplex, a cross-platform advertisement network for Windows Phone and Windows 8 developers, has released data in the form of charts that reveal OEM, platform version and even view mode trends. Sporting data for both Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8, the published article hits two birds with one stone. So, what's interesting about the numbers?
We've been so busy around here that we forgot our own Mobile Nations roving reporter Simon Sage managed to get some one on one time with the Samsung ATIV S (see our camera samples from earlier). The ATIV S is headed to Rogers in Canada, among a few other lucky networks (no such luck here in the States, at least so far).
The video is fun to watch only because you can get to peep how big that 4.8" screen is and how great it looks in AMOLED. Throw in that super thin body, a massive 2300 mAh battery, 32GB of storage, memory expansion and yeah, we're wanting to play with one. It's also interesting to note that you can turn the phone on via the physical Win key--the only Windows Phone 8 device with such a configuration--kudos to Sammy for that one. Too bad we can't think of a way for Nokia or HTC to do the same and keep their slick designs. Can't have it all!
Other than that most of the video is just a tour of Windows Phone 8, which many of you should be familiar with by now.
We still don't know much about the mysterious Samsung ATIV Odyssey, a device that we heard about way back in July. The existence of the device became official during this year's BUILD conference when it was announced as part of Verizon's upcoming December Windows Phone 8 lineup.
We had the opportunity to take the new Windows Phone from Samsung, the ATIV S, out for a quick photo shoot to see how the 8 megapixel camera performed.
It was a little bit of a mixed bag as far as image quality. But the ATIV S seems to be on par with other cameras we've seen from Samsung such as the Focus, Focus S and Focus 2.
The Samsung ATIV S is on its way to Canadian carrier TELUS, according to the carrier's website. The Windows Phone 8 handset from Samsung has got its own product page, which officially confirms the network stocking said device in the coming weeks once it's available for consumers.
A video of what appears to be a rather unusual commercial is by Samsung has been uploaded to YouTube. The advertisement shows off he Samsung ATIV Windows product line-up. Using an odd script with cheesy acting, the company presents its Windows Phone 8 handset, Windows 8 tablets and laptops.
Phew! Today was fairly eventful, was it not? While not an awful lot was announced by Microsoft, we did manage to see Windows Phone 8 be formally launched into the wild with handsets confirmed for carriers in a number of markets. Welcome to our round-up, which will be useful should you had been absent through the presentation.
Rogers has unveiled in a portion of its media event in Canada today that it's the preferred carrier in the country for Windows Phone 8, which is a claim we can certainly believe with the arsenal of handsets it's taking through to 2013. It's also set to be the first carrier in the world to sport the Lumia 920.
Welcome to another From the Forums round-up, where we bring you some popular threads from our Windows Phone community forum that you may have missed. The past number of hours have been huge for Microsoft with the unveiling of Windows 8 and its availability, as well as the launch of the Surface RT tablet. So what's being discussed on our bulletin boards?
Much has been said about Microsoft getting ready to release a whole bunch of new products, but it’s easy to forget that smaller markets often get left out, and don’t get anything close to the US release dates. But here’s some good news for you South African folk. You will be receiving Windows 8, and Windows Phone 8 devices in the very near future!

With the operating system juggernaut called Windows 8 looming closer by the day it seems everyone is talking about Windows. Is the conversation going to include Windows Phone more frequently too now?
Samsung’s UK vice president has dropped a few encouraging words about where the company sees opportunity in the business sector for an end-to-end solution for tablets and smartphones based on Windows 8.
Rogers has pledged strong support for Windows Phone 8 through the announcement of both exclusivities and hardware that makes use of Microsoft's latest mobile system. This mirrors the strong carrier support we've seen so far here in the UK. We managed to get some hands-on action with said devices, so be sure to pop on past the break for all the photos.
UK retailer Clove is a strong supporter of Windows Phone, if its product listings are anything to go by. Not only is the retailer sporting the Samsung ATIV S, which we covered previously, but Clove also now has the HTC 8X, HTC 8S, Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 available online.
Today Rogers announced that they'll be the exclusive carrier for the Nokia Lumia 920, the HTC 8X, and the Samsung ATIV S. Apparently the 920 and the 8 GB 8X will be exclusives. Rogers will also be offrering the Samsung ATIV Windows tablet as well.
Of course, there's no information on specific prices or dates just yet, but we'll keep our eyes peeled. Rogers president Rob Bruce says that the devices will be priced "competitively". We at least know that the 920 will be landing sometime in November, and we've had an inkling that the ATIV S would be launching in the same time frame. The 8X was also announced not too long ago, so not a ton of surprises here, but Rogers and Microsoft are definitely cementing their partnership today. Bruce said that there's going to be a big focus on Microsoft products from here on in, though they're still about offering as much choice as possible. We're at Rogers HQ right now, so with any luck we'll get some hands-on time later today (though I'm not holding my breath).
Things are starting to shake out on how pricing will look for the coming onslaught of Windows 8 machines.
Samsung has now revealed the pricing for its coming ATIV line of Smart PCs as well as its more traditional offerings. The Smart PCs get the ATIV branding, these are the machines that we associate with being hybrid designs, detachable keyboards and such. These garner most of the interest in the coming Windows 8 hardware, but will Samsung be pitching them at the right price point to convert interest into sales?
Samsung hasn’t exactly been forthcoming with showing off its ATIV S device so it’s good to see others getting unofficial hands on time with it.
We get some nice shots of photo and video backup options, as well as the text message backup. Interestingly in this revealment we see a new option for call blocking functionality in the system settings.
