If you’re the type of person who is constantly on the move, a jetsetter perhaps, you’ve probably used or heard of Uber sometime in the past few years. The service and its applications allow users to connect with private drivers in select cities around the world.

Simply select your location and when you want to be picked up and sleek vehicle will be there for you. Cars available range from Lincoln Town Cars to BMW 7 Series or a Mercedes-Benz S550 sedan. Bad news if you’re primarily a Windows Phone user and want to use the service since the app has been unpublished from the Store.

If you are looking for a simple, yet challenging game for your Windows Phone take a look at Sketch Taxi.

Patterned after the video game Space Taxi, Sketch Taxi is sketched out much like Doodle Jump or Parachute Panic. You control a taxi as it flies around picking up fares. Along the way you have to avoid crashing into things which will send your taxi falling from the screen in ball of flames.

Sketch Taxi may not appeal to everyone but the graphics are nice and game play is challenging. Overall, Sketch Taxi is worth giving the trial a chance.

Personally, we zip around the busy streets of Manhattan on our motorcycle because lane-splitting is the bomb but for the rest of you, especially those who sport a monocle, Uber may be more your cup of tea.

What's Uber (www.uber.com)? It's an on demand car service that's present in many cities including Manhattan, San Francisco, Boston, LA, Chicago and more. And by on-demand we mean you can use your phone to pin point your location, send an SMS and a driver will come ferry you away to your cigar club, opera or Taco Bell all the while shouting "Oh Belvedere!". All charges (including tips) are automatically billed to your credit card making this quite convenient for the leisure class.

The service has an iPhone and Android app but alas, nothing for Windows Phone. Now, developer FremontFidelity has put one on the Windows Phone Marketplace for free and it's quite nifty.

There's not much to it really. It pinpoints your location via GPS, translates that into a street address and then texts the Uber service with the info. You can also cancel your ride ($10 charge) all with the convenient touch of a button. In essence, the app is just shortcuts to these services and makes us wonder why Uber can't make an app.

Regardless, Uber towncar is free and gets the job done. We should note before you use the app you need to sign up at the Uber site and create an account.

Nokia has hosted a number of events in London the past few months, including Nokia World and a performance featuring deadmau5 with a huge video presentation. Already tripling their expenditure wasn't enough as it seems the Finnish manufacturer still isn't done. Should you be out and around London and happen to spot a London black cab (taxi) wrapped up in Lumia promotion material, you'll be sure to hail it since Nokia are offering free rides.

The handset maker has paid black cab drivers so you don't have to. Fitting in nicely with Social Media Week (February 13-17), which Nokia is a sponsor of, this advertising stunt is yet another effective campaign under the marketing team's belt. Bravo.
