The personal assistant for Windows Phone, Indigo has only been available in the store for a few days, but that hasn't stopped the team rolling out a small update to squash some bugs. While no change log is available, we've reached out for information on what's included in the latest release and were able to confirm that only minor bug fixes were bundled.

Microsoft is set to reintroduce the famous Windows start button in Windows 8, according to sources familiar with company plans. A report over on The Verge points at Windows 8.1 (aka "Blue") as to when consumers will be able to see a start button in desktop mode without utilising third-party software. The only downside is it's noted the button will simply take the user back to the start screen and not fire up a menu.

The official National Rail Enquiries app for Windows 8 has been updated. The app was previously bumped to include numerous new features that consumers could take advantage of. The change log remains the same on the store listing, so we can only speculate that this latest release is a minor update to fix some bugs and implement improvements.

Earlier today we shared with you guys news about Microsoft looking to add more live tiles to Windows Phone. It would allow the interface to look better on displays with larger and higher resolutions, something that Windows Phone 8 currently might not excel at. A reader sent a quick mockup of what that would look like. We figured we’d share it with you all.

Video game retailer GAME is continuing to push its mobile app for Windows Phone. The company has now released version 4, which follows the recent update that only came out last month. Version 3 of GAME Reward sported Wallet integration and a user interface refresh. It was a welcomed bump, but there's always room for improvement. Cue yet another update.

We've already covered rumours of Microsoft looking to add 1080p support for Windows Phone later this year with the GDR3 update (this is all before the anticipated "Blue" update), but now the company may well be addressing the larger real estate issue that will occur with Live Tiles. Should you own a Samsung ATIV S, the three columns of tiles can appear to be rather limited at times, but Mary Jo Foley from ZDNet has learnt that the Windows Phone team is looking at a solution - to add more tiles.

Ever wondered if Microsoft improved the performance in the Windows Phone 7.8 update? It has certainly been considered, but many have naturally assumed that since the company has failed to shout about optimisations present in the latest version of 7.x, that there's little difference between 7.5 and 7.8.

Windows tutorials and resource website 7tutorials has published an in-depth performance comparison between Windows Phone 7.5 and Windows Phone 7.8. The plan was to see if there were any signs of performance improvements in the latest software version for first generation hardware. Turns out, there's barely any difference between the two, but we weren't expecting much, right?

Fly Delta updated, fails to address known bugs

The Fly Delta app for Windows Phone has been updated, but there still seems to be issues with logging in for many consumers. These problems were raised by users prior to this release being published, so one would expect the update to contain the necessary improvements, correct? The latest release includes "Bug fixes & performance enhancements" and no, we're not trolling you.

Following on from our mostly successful launch of v3.8/9 of the Windows Phone Central app, there are a few loose ends to tie up in the code, thus we present the next update, v3.10 for Windows Phone 7 and v3.11 for Windows Phone 8. After a few problems with the store, everything looks to be resolved.

Whilst we're afraid we can't promise any exciting new features, we have resolved several problems, some of which we know were frustrating our community a little! You can pick up the update here in the store (either the free version or paid) or see below for the full changelist, and please consider voting for the app in Microsoft's next app star competition.

Hurl released an official Windows Phone app last week, but the team has got in touch with Windows Phone Central to confirm that an update has been published to address issue with screen resolutions. Taking into account the feedback that has been provided by the community, the Hurl team has set out to address concerns and any problems that were experienced.

If you're not familiar with Hurl, it's a DNLA-type service, but for PCs. The service works after the official app has been installed on a Windows Phone and page set up on the Hurl website (www.hurl.net). Using your phone’s GPS (and your label) you can then connect up. Users can search online for videos, which can then be added to the queue for playback on the PC. The Windows Phone acts as a remote—it’s like SmartGlass but for everything else.
