Bookqueue was only recently bumped to support Windows Phone 8, but now the app has been updated again with some minor improvements. For those who are unaware of the app's functionality, it enables Windows Phone owners to quickly jot down books that are of interest. Synchronising with SkyDrive, Bookqueue keeps the user updated even if multiple devices are used, and supports the purchasing of titles.

UC Browser, an alternative web browser for Windows Phone, has been available on the platform for some time now. Since then the app has been updated a number of times and has now been bumped to version 2.7. It's worth noting that this is not a simple IE wrapper either. UC Browser is the real deal, offering a serious solution for those who wish to use something other than Internet Explorer.

The Windows Phone 7.8 update for Lumia smartphones is reportedly available through Nokia Care i.e. local store/support centers, scattered throughout the world including parts of Europe and India.

According to a number of tips we've received (mostly from India), the anticipated upgrade for those who remain on legacy hardware is available should official support channels be unavailable. Users can simply bring in their phone and have them updated right there by Nokia, even before the "early 2013" date.

Nokia Pulse is an app currently in beta that aims to make messaging with contacts easier, particularly when attempting to meet. Instead of sending multiple SMS messages, with Nokia Pulse one can send a message with it automatically tagging current location.

The app will also suggest a place to meet, complete with ratings, reviews, map directions and more. It essentially cuts down the multiple app usage when attempting to achieve similar results. The good news is the beta is coming soon to both Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 7.8.

Yesterday we reported on a few cases of Nokia Lumia phones starting to receive Windows Phone 7.8 on their devices. At the time, Nokia (and Microsoft) were quiet on the matter having not announced anything official about the update, which seemingly was released early. Then again, with the updates sitting on Nokia’s servers, anything was plausible.

The Lumia 920 has impressed many with the PureView camera technology Nokia has installed inside the Windows Phone. The optical image stabilisation (OIS), software enhancements and Carl Zeiss lens are just a few features that work together to create some truly astonishing magic when taking shots in low light.

However, there's an issue with photographs taken in good amounts light. Lack of detail, sharpness and while it's not a deal breaker, it does cause alarm especially when low light shots are that good. Thankfully, Nokia is set to release a firmware update to address problems raised by consumers.

Wheel of Wealth updated for Windows Phone 8

The popular Windows Phone title Wheel of Wealth has been updated for Windows Phone 8. The Wheel of Fortune-styled game recently launched on Windows 8, but only sported an online mode. We've seen Wheel of Wealth disappear from the Windows Phone Store, only to reappear again, but it's good to see the developer continuing to support the platform.
