The "Peanut Butter, Jelly" version, shown above was the runner-up and will air during both the NFC and AFC Championship games.

You've just purchased your shiny new Windows Phone, and all is well. But there's something missing. You can't quite place it, right? Allow us to help you out - you've not got any Windows Phone Central wallpapers! Fear not as we've crafted some new beauties for you to add to your Windows Phone, should you not be making use of new lockscreen functionality for a favourite app of course.
Microsoft has a nice collection of celebrity endorsements for Windows Phone 8 from Singer Gwen Stefani to Actress Jessica Alba to Olympic Athlete Kerri Walsh. Cam Newton, NFL Quarterback for the Carolina Panthers (and former Auburn University QB), has also jumped into the action.
Cam is featured in four video spots, each with a slightly different ending such as the "Poundcake and French Fries" version above.
To highlight Cam's Windows Phone experience, Microsoft is holding a poll over on Twitter to see which ending to his Windows Phone commercial should be aired on January 20th during the NFC Championship football game. There are four endings to choose from and you can catch the remaining three just past the break. To cast your vote and to see the live poll results, just head on over to the Windows Phone Blog.
Just a shame they didn't have a "War Eagle" version...
Our Windows Phones are great devices to keep you in touch. Either through actually using it as a wireless telephone, checking your email, chatting through text messages, surfing the web or accessing your favorite app or game. But there are some occasions where your Windows Phone, or any other smartphone for that matter, can be rather annoying.
Occasions such as a movie theater when someone pulls out there Windows Phone to check a missed call and the screen lights up the room. Or when you're in a meeting and the chime sounds for an incoming text that interrupts your bosses in mid-speech.
The Nokia Lumia line of Windows Phones have arrived in India. At a press event in New Delhi, Nokia announced the launch of the Lumia 920, Lumia 820 and Lumia 620 Windows Phones.
The Lumia 920 and 820 will be available tomorrow from select local retailers for Rs. 38,199 (about $700 US) and Rs. 27,559 (about $505 US) respectively. The Lumia 920 will be available in black, red, yellow and white with the Lumia 820 being offered in red, yellow, white, black and cyan.
The more affordable Lumia 620 won't be available until early next month in magenta, yello, cyan, white and black colors. Pricing wasn't available and is expected to be announced closer to availability.

Even though Microsoft wasn’t exhibiting at CES this year, doesn’t mean they haven’t been present. From Steven Ballmer taking to the stage at the Qualcomm keynote to some surprise Xbox 360 demos, it’s been busy.
The folks at Computer World caught up with Greg Sullivan. senior product manager for Windows Phone. Seems Greg was eager to share the good news about Windows Phone sales in China and also led some to speculate on a Windows Phone in the pipeline that uses an Intel CPU.

Good news today for the prospects of seeing more Windows Phone make their way into the important business market. Nokia and Avande have signed a deal to get Microsoft services, Lumia products and expertise into the enterprise.

Microsoft has previously confirmed it was looking to introduce Sina Weibo connectivity to China for use with its platforms. The micro-blogging service is a must-have for the array of products the company now has on offer. With popular social networks already available through Microsoft Accounts, it's only right that Chinese consumers be able to achieve the same level of integration.

Microsoft’s cloud based storage solution; SkyDrive has picked up its first set of updates as we go into 2013. The service has quickly evolved to become the hub for nearly every product in Microsoft’s line up. Windows Phone has always been deeply connected and the past year has seen Windows and Office hook into the mesh.
The public face of SkyDrive is through a web interface and it's here that many will create folders and share them. The team has improved sharing, speed and touch responsiveness to the latest update.

We reported on the demise of Microsoft’s long serving Messenger instant chat and video calling service some time back. If you are already an existing user then you’ll have been greeted with pop up notices urging you to update to Skype over the last month or so.
Seems like Microsoft is now putting the word out in full, an official email was sent to users today explaining what you’ll need to do and how long the service will continue to work for.
Huawei has released a commercial spot over on YouTube featuring the Ascend W1 Windows Phone. While the video highlights Windows Phone features we've grown accustom to (photo sharing, email, live tiles, Office Hub, etc.), it does give us a nice glimpse of the new Windows Phone.
We spent some hands on time with the Ascend W1 at CES 2013 and found it to be a decent budget oriented Windows Phone. The Huawei W1 will sport a 4" WVGA display, dual core 1.2GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and a 5MP rear/.3MP front camera set up.
Yesterday we shared some of the advertisement data from cross-platform developer network AdDuplex. Now the full post is available on their blog and with it, much more data to comb over. In contrast with the mostly US-centric data yesterday, the blog post gives a worldwide perspective. Keep in mind, these numbers are from an ad network, the most popular Windows Phone ad network of its kind, but still not official numbers from Microsoft. That said, it’s still fun to look at the graphs and get some insight to the Windows Phone ecosystem as a whole.
Just recently the BBC released yet more new apps for Apple’s iPhone and announced plans for more support of Google Android devices. The corporation has stated publically the need to make its content available to all in as many ways as possible but has persistently refused to develop a single app for Windows Phone. They now state they have no plans to support a Windows 8 app too.
The BBC have often cited incompatibilities in their chosen media formats with Windows Phone and the relatively small market share for the platform as being reasons not to make an app. In the latest statement from the ‘beeb’ it’s also apparent that market share and file types aren’t the only thing stopping them developing for Microsoft operating systems. Reason and logic don’t seem to come into play.

According to an interview with Stephen Elop, the Nokia CEO is apparently open to other platforms, namely Android. Previously, Elop has stood by Microsoft and has reiterated the company's focus on improving its Lumia line of smartphones, cloud-based services and its partnership with the software (and now hardware) giant. Is the future of Nokia still uncertain? Sure. Are they considering Android? Not right now.
The Lumia 620 is now available at German retailer Media Markt. The Windows Phone is listed in a variety of colours, each selling for €269 when pre-ordered. The Lumia 620 was unveiled late last year to be running Windows Phone 8 and would be aggressively priced to compete with similar hardware on other platforms.
We’re here at the AT&T Developer Summit going on right now at CES 2013 where traditionally AT&T would reveal new devices to their lineup (even if just small additions). Unfortunately so far, that does not seem to be the case as they’re just teasing with “you haven’t seen anything yet” for new 2013 phones. That means they’re probably holding off until Mobile World Congress or CTIA in a few weeks...

This one has been brewing for a while and it seems that the rhetoric is now stepping up as Microsoft and Google prepare to do battle. The stage has been set and much of the coming drama will focus on Windows Phone.
Microsoft has today written publically about Google’s direct refusal to open up YouTube access so that Windows Phone users can easily use the service when mobile, something we first reported back in March 2011. The plot thickens when we learn that Microsoft has a high quality YouTube app ready to release. Don’t be evil, read on past the break to find out more.
Microsoft has posted a "Best of 2012" app collection in the Windows Phone Store. The "Best of 2012" list includes thirty apps and games such as Wordament, Weave, ARMED!, Weather Flow and a local favorite... the official Windows Phone Central app!
We have to tip our hat to Jay Bennett for burning the midnight oil on several occasions to develop and update a really nice app. We also would like to thank you, our readers, for helping make the app and the website as successful as it is. 2012 has been a whirlwind of a year and it's nice to see it end on such a high note.
