At some point Zombies became popular and your Windows Phone isn't exempt from their influence. It wasn't long ago we first shared with you the latest game involving the undead, MustEatBrains. Since, we've had some time to spend some hands on time with the game and found it to be a mixed bag.

Graphically, the game is well presented. I like the hand-drawn, retro feel to the game. Animations are nice, game controls decent, and the plot simple. To learn more on the latest zombie game to hit the Marketplace, hit the break.

More Zombies are heading to your Windows Phone. This time around, it's with the game MustEatBrains from PNB Industries. You can choose to either fight on the side of the living or on the side of the zombies.

Fighting on the side of the undead, you chase after the "meddlesome warm blooded fools" scoring points for each heart you collect and receive a boost of endurance by dining on the remains. Brains are the delicacy that will give you brief periods of invulnerability.

Fight on the side of the living, you stand alone against the undead horde. Points are scored for each zombie you take out and you loose points should you take out innocent bystanders.

The graphics have a nostalgic feel with over three hundred hand-drawn animations. You almost expect the flickering of the lens as the frames roll by. There is a free trail available for MustEatBrains with the full version running $1.49. You can download both here (opens Zune) at the Marketplace. Plants vs. Zombies - Review

As a critic, it’s rare that I can unequivocally say that a game is the very best game in its genre. So many titles do different things well, and they usually have their minuses too. It’s even more uncommon for a game to transcend its own genre and become something that appeals to pretty much everybody. That’s why Plants vs. Zombies is such an amazing game. Not only is it hands-down the best tower defense game on Windows Phone, it also tweaks tower defense conventions and brings so much content that even tower defense naysayers will find a lot to enjoy.

What exactly is tower defense? It’s a type of real-time strategy game. Players build stationary towers which shoot at enemies as they try to reach the player’s base. To put that in Plants vs. Zombies terms, zombies attack the gamer’s yard, striving to get inside the house and eat the tasty brains inside. Weaponized plants with faces and personalities take the place of mechanical towers. In case it wasn’t immediately obvious, this game is loaded with charm and humor.

Twin Blades - Review

For several months, Twin Blades from Press Start Studio reluctantly enjoyed the distinction of being the only Xbox Live game to be pulled from the Windows Phone Marketplace. During its absence, it earned something of a cult status as mobile gamers suddenly realized they were missing out on a hardcore action experience. Now the game is back with green zombie blood instead of the original red. Is Twin Blades’ return cause for celebration? Yes, unless you’re a zombie, in which case, stay out of Sister Angelika’s way.

E3 2011: New Xbox Live games revealed for Windows Phone

Microsoft’s E3 keynote presentation may have left Windows Phone cold in the dust, but that doesn’t mean the company has completely neglected their mobile platform at the event. They’re showing off several new Xbox Live games and a few that were previously announced but haven’t been mentioned in a while.

Zombie Attack! 2 - Review

Windows Phone 7 has no shortage of tower defense games. In addition to numerous indie offerings, Xbox Live games Star Wars: Battle for Hoth, Plants vs. Zombies, and geoDefense will all be available by the end of June. Then there’s Zombie Attack! 2 (AKA Zombie Attack! The 2^nd Wave) from IUGO Mobile Entertainment. “Sweet, zombies and tower defense go together like brains and ketchup,” you might be thinking. Don’t get too excited just yet…

Zombie Attack 2’s claim to fame is that the player controls a human survivor that runs around planting and upgrading towers. Standing next to a tower boosts its damage by fifty percent. The survivor can attack zombies directly with a machete or shotgun, but zombies can hurt him or her as well. If the human dies, he or she will re-spawn at the base after several seconds. The base has its own health meter. If the zombies destroy the base, the game ends.

The six playable characters include: Survivor, Red Ninja, Fighter, Super Spy, Santa, and Daisy Mae. They don’t play differently and are fairly generic, except maybe for Daisy Mae. She’s actually the star of a separate indie WP7 title from IUGO.

Zombies!!! - Review

Zombies seem to be invading our Windows Phones these days. At last count, there were about fifteen zombie themed games at the Marketplace. One of the more anticipated zombie themed games for Windows Phone 7 has to be Zombies!!!.

A collaborative effort between Microsoft Game Studios, Babaroga, and Twilight Creations, Zombies!!! brings the popular board game to the small screen of your Windows Phone. Graphically well presented, Zombies!!! represents the original board game extremely well.

The game premise is simple. Wipe out 25 zombies or make it to the helipad to escape the City. Along the way you compete with other players who'll do what they can to slow you down by playing action cards or positioning zombies in your way.

Zombie Defense - Review

While Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst (see full review) has mutant freaks, Zombie Defense from Rush Forward has plain old zombies. The Windows Phone 7 game has you defending your neighborhood from a parade of the living dead.

The multi-level tower defense game offers ten types of zombies to defend against and three different tower weapons. Zombie Defense is an entertaining game for the Windows Phone but to see if it's worth the $.99 price tag, you'll have to follow the break.

'Zombies!!!' is the latest title slated for the upcoming Windows Phone 7 launch. Based on the award-winning board game by Twilight Creations. Software developer Babaroga will be offering the graphically pleasing game for WP7.

Promising to bring murder, mayhem and plenty of Zombies to your Windows Phone 7 device, Zombies Mobile Edition will worth checking out. Graphically, the game takes a unique player perspective and has excellent design, offering what looks to be hilarious campy fun.
