Unofficial Instagram client 6tag updated; squashes auto password reset bug

6tag

6tag, the unofficial Instagram client for Windows Phone, has been updated with a small bug fix to address an issue some users have been experiencing. If you're not familiar with the app, it was one of the most popular third-party alternatives prior to the official Instagram Windows Phone app launching on the store.

According to the developer of 6tag, Rudy Huyn, version 2.2.3 addresses the auto password reset issue, which left some users unable to access their accounts. It's only a a minor update, but certainly one worth noting if you've been having similar trouble with previous versions. We last looked at 6tag when 2.2.1 was released late last month.

You can download 6tag from the Windows Phone Store for free. Thanks for the tip, @RomanCifuentess!

Good to see Rudy still working on 6tag even though the official client is now available.

I'm not saying that its a minor update, but I'm trying to show Rich his typo :p

If you had to reset your instagram password every week because of this bug like I had you will find this news one of the more importants about the 6tag.

I had practically stoped to use 6tag because of this bug, even after have payed for the functions on 6tag.

6tag is still far superior to the official app.

Kinda puts the official app with no further updates since it first came out yet to shame, doesn't it...?

LaNiQuE says:

I agree it's in beta with no updates yet ?? Lol I'd love to hear from the developers as to why they haven't made an app that is as good as a 3rd party app. I'm thinking maybe it will take them as long as it took twitter.

Oh don't get me wrong. In the features we have with Instagram beta, they are, IMO, much better than 6tag. But it's kinda like they dumped that on us in the hope that would quieten us down for a bit while they worked on "more important things" like iOS and android.

Anyways, we shall wait patiently of course...

I'm curious as to what features the official app has that 6tag doesn't.

I didn't say the official app had any features 6tag doesn't have. You misread.

How about the official one?
