What's on your Today Screen?

Fess up: You can't leave good enough alone. You can't just use the stock Windows Mobile 6.5 interface. You have to crack open TouchFLO 3D and tweak every little setting you can. SPB Mobile Shell. Point UI. The list goes on.

After the break, see what we're all rocking here at WMExperts. Then, it's your turn. We want to see what you guys and gals have come up with on your Windows phones. (But let's keep it clean, folks. PG-13 and under.) Head into the forums and show us your stuff. And no need to fret if you don't have Windows 6.5 yet. We want to see from you guys, too.

Mal, where are you getting Max Manila for TouchFlo 2.1? The version I've found on XDA is for 2.5 only.

See first attachment--he made a version for Manila 2.1

I think it is interesting to see that no one is using the Windows 6.5 homescreen. They are all some modification of TouchFlo.

Funny you say that...today I cooked a ROM w/out TouchFLO and just running Titanium...not sure which I like more.

Originally, I was using the PointUI Home 2 (Free version) with the PointSense UI on my HTC Touch (Vogue). I'm glad I didn't pay for it.

It's great because it's got a lot of eye candy and widgets, but it is a slug when it comes to UI responsiveness. Some actions require almost 2-3 seconds before anything happens. It also freezes my phone a lot so I need to soft reset almost every week guaranteed. Free version also comes with a nag screen.

I gave up on it and hard reset the phone and flashed an updated ROM that looks similar to Phils today screen only it is Touchflo 2D not 3D. I can't tell you how happy I am that my phone doesn't freeze anymore.

Not sure if anyone wants to see my circa 2007 HTC Mogul screen, but it's customized with SBSH's iLauncher and PhoneWeaver apps. What's best is that virtually any phone/text contact, app, or MS document I want quick access to is right there on the home screen, very nice. Of course, all that will unregrettably change if/when I can snag an HD2 on Sprint next year.

So these are all TP2s?

I believe Mal is using the Pure/Touch Diamond 2. Phil, myself and Tim are using the Tilt 2/Touch Pro 2.

all very nice but I think I like the "photon" look the best for now.

I use Home2 on my device with the SeVen Theme with a Windows-esque wallpaper. I like to have my device look as much like Windows as possible (but not copy the UI like i have seen before). I like the translucent bottom bar with the orb in the middle and i still like to have access to the start menu.

I like the applet ribbon which makes my life easier with the easy access i get to the important stuff. I tried throttle launcher and it seemed to run a bit slower on my device even with the standard theme running on it, and it ate up my systems RAM faster than PointUI Home2 did. The only criticism i have is that Home2 does not make it easy to add a contact to your contact list at all. I do use a earlier version of the software though and i found the latest versions do run a bit heavier on my device's resources.

I have other UI's i would like to test like Androkkid, and Touch One. I may also try out the latest version of Throttle launcher. I like how my UI does not look like a knock off of Android although i really like the interface. Since its a WinMo device, i would like to keep it looking like Windows as much as possible.

I use the Windows Phone 6.5 default UI and love it! I found TouchFlo pretty, but inefficient. There is no quicker way to get to any function on the phone than with the zune-like UI of 6.5. The biggest drawack is that there is no native method to edit the screen items. you have to use this free app. http://www.bowlesonline.com/remove-getting-started-from-the-windows-phon...
