WhatsApp hits v1.3.2 gets a new feature

Yeah, everyone's favorite chat app, WhatsApp, just hit v1.3.2. As you can probably guess, that's hardly a big version change meaning there's not too much in the way of new stuff. What we noticed:

  • Settings --> Auto-save incoming pictures (new)
  • Version number is now correct (woo!)
  • Performance feels faster (unverified)

Other than that, nothing else. So looks like it's baby steps for WhatsApp, but hey, we'll take what we can get, right? Pick up WhatsApp here in the Marketplace. Thanks, Mosammey, for the heads up

What I saw:- No improvement in startup/read messages performances- Slightly different layout in the contact list (the grid is cleaner, the default picture when there's no contact picture has changed)- Sent/read check-mark has changed (+ one 'ticking' clock before sending)- Some UI feedback when tapping a name (to avoid false positives)- All letters grid layout in 'Favorites' now much faster to appear- Current status now displayed in the status update parameter -And on top of that, tapping on a notification will bring you to the conversation directly (not to the main menu anymore)

how many years before this app is at least somewhere near the quality of the one in iOS and Android? I mean Kik messenger is a heck of a lot better and that app isnt even updated for Mango

You all forgot to mention they will start to charge a yearly sub for this now!!$1.99 according to the details on the marketplace. Its a joke as this was a free app/service! ****

Its not free. Even on iPhone or android it was always a paid service. for wp7 they made first year free

My startup and going in to a chat seems slightly faster. Still way to slow, but definitely faster.
