Windows Phone Accessory Review: Overboard Waterproof Headphones
The other day we took a look at the Otterbox 2000 waterproof case for your Windows Phone. In the past, we've also looked at waterproof solutions such as the Overboard Waterproof Case to keep your Windows Phone dry. But what if you want to listen to music while your Windows Phone is high and dry? If your waterproof solution has a port for headphones, take a look at the Overboard Waterproof Headphones.
Rated waterproof to a depth of 19 feet, the Overboard headphones are also sweatproof. In looking at the earbud headphones, they look just like your typical earbud styled headphones. You've got a four foot cord, 3.5mm headphone jack and an assortment of varying sized rubber earbud thingamajigs to get a fit that is as close to perfect as possible.
Sound quality is alright, about a nudge better than the run-of-the-mill earphones you find at the grocery store check-out line. Overboard is advertised as having a Neodymium Bass response driver, but I couldn't tell any added bass. Then again, waterproofing not sound quality is the key selling point with the Overboard headphones. On the plus side, sound quality doesn't diminish when your listening underwater (or at least in the tub that is).
And that's where the Overboard headphones fit. I can see these headphones coming in handy at the beach or lake when you want to listen to music without worrying about damaging your headphones by getting them wet. Maybe even the shower. I would have liked to have seen a longer cord on the Overboard headphones. As is just felt a little restrictive.
If you're looking for a waterproof set of headphones Overboard Waterproof Headphones is worth considering. It's not the best set of headphones on the market but they will take a soaking and keep on working. You can find the Overboard Waterproof Headphones are currently running $27.95 and you can find them here at the WPCentral Accessory Store.
