Windows Phone flight simulator, Infinite Flight, gets updated
Infinite Flight is one of the most comprehensive flight simulators you will find for Windows Phone and possibly any other mobile platform. Since it's release, the app has been updated several times adding new features and planes to the mix. With Infinite Flight you can fly everything from a bi-plane to the Space Shuttle.
...or in my case, barely get the aircraft off the ground only to stall out and crash into the countryside.
Infinite Flight was recently updated to version 2.5 and adds the following features to the simulator.
- Multitouch support
- A button to restore purchases in the settings page
- Added camera motion (panning + zoom) in Virtual Cockpit
- P-38 Lighting with Virtual Cockpit
- New Oshkosh Scenery
- Support for Runway Types (Asphalt, Concrete, Grass, Dirt)
The update brings Infinite Flight's fleet of planes to fourteen with three flight regions (San Francisco Bay, Southern California and Oshkosh). If you're into flight simulators, Infinite Flight is a must have app for your Windows Phone. It's really an impressive app for your Windows Phone.
There is a trial version available for Infinite Flight with the full version running $4.99. You can find it all here at the Windows Phone Marketplace.

I know...why Microsoft doesn't pick this up is beyond me.

The most played "game" on my phone. The new ability to look around the cockpit in-flight adds an entirely new dimension of realism. My only complaint is some of the horrifying low-res textures on some aircraft interiors and the landscape.

My kid's favorite game. Runs great on HD7, spectacular on Lumia 900! Kudos to developer for excellent support and frequently adding new aircraft.
Cheers

I hope there will be a Windows 8 version - this is a great app and it will be even better on a bigger screen!

Have you seen X-Plane?

This is a great game and the quality of the game would be worthy of an Xbox Live Title. However, I can see why it is not: There are no "objectives" except for one or two aircrafts.

Users can add and delete icons from the dock, which is the same on every home screen. Each home screen holds up to sixteen icons, and the dock holds up to four icons. Users can delete Web Clips and third party applications at any time, and may select only certain applications for transfer from iTunes. Thanks.

No instructions included; creator's forum less than adequate for how-to. Hence, the app has been little more than frustrating.
