Windows Phone Game Review: Frog
The other day we made mention of the Windows Phone game Incredible Circus. The Windows Phone game is the product of INdT, a non-profit research and development institute founded by Nokia. Another game developed by INdT is Frog.
Frog is a jumper game of sorts that has you playing the role of the frog. The goal of the game is to work your way up the screen by eating various insects. You gobble up flies, butterflies, ladybugs and dragonflies and each time you munch on one, you jump a little higher. There is one danger to avoid, a spider, who will snare you in their web. Frog has a two bonus items that you can snatch to give you a boost of speed. You have a honey jar that attract the bugs to you and a rocket which will accelerate your ascent.
You maneuver your frog with your Windows Phone's accelerometer, titling the phone to get the frog to veer left or right. As the frog is moving up the screen, it can move off the side of the screen and re-enter play on the opposite side. There is a local leaderboard that will track your high scores and a How to Play section that is accessed from the main menu.
All in all, Frog is a fun game. Graphics are nice and the game play challenging enough to keep things interesting. Frog is a free game that you can find here at the Windows Phone Marketplace.
