Windows Phone Game Review: FrogSling
Frogs aren't doing too well over at the Windows Phone Marketplace. You've got the classic game of Frogger where cars are trying to run the poor frogs over. Then there's Blow up the Frog where you try to inflate the frog for style points. Now you have FrogSling where you're using a sling shot to toss frogs into a bucket. These little guys just can't win.
FrogSling is a multi-level game where you snatch up frogs that are hopping around and shoot them into a water bucket or bounce them off a trampoline so they'll smash into your Windows Phone screen. To make things a little challenging you have wind to factor into your shot, a hungry stork that will try to eat the frogs as they hop around, and lightning storms that will mess things up.
You do have bonus point opportunities for consecutive hits as well as hitting insects in mid flight. Each level provides you with a certain number of frogs and a goal for the number of hits you need to progress to the next level.
To shoot your frog, simply tap/hold on one of the frogs as he hops around, drag him to the sling shot and pull back. A targeting line will appear to help you with the aim and when things are just right, release your hold and watch the frog sail.
All in all, FrogSling is a decent game for your Windows Phone. The gameplay is challenging enough to keep things from getting too stale plus the animations and sound effects are good. FrogSling may not be something you'd play for hours on end but as a game to pass short periods of time with, it ain't too shabby.
FrogSling is a free, ad supported game that you can find here at the Windows Phone Marketplace.
