Windows Phone push notifications back on line for Birdsong

Birdsong for Windows Phone

Birdsong, a Windows Phone Twitter app, experienced a little technical difficulties with Live Tile and push notifications. The developers have worked diligently over the past few weeks and the new push notification service went online just a little while ago.

Birdsong is a nicely laid out Twitter app for your Windows Phone that supports multiple accounts, threaded conversations, geo-tagged tweets, off line viewing and much more.

Along with getting the push notifications back on line, the developers are close to releasing the version 1.8 update for Birdsong which will allow you to enable/disable toast notifications for favorites and retweets as well as the ability to turn on/off live in-app updates. This feature will automatically refresh timelines when you are mentioned or a direct message is sent your way.

A quick note from the developer on the new push notifications calls for the need to re-save your notification settings for each Twitter account in the current version (1.7) of Birdsong. This should allow the new service to take hold.

There is a free trial version of Birdsong available with the full version running $.99. You can find Birdsong here at the Windows Phone Marketplace.

Hi @topleya, if you drop me your twitter username that you are using I can take a look to see if there are any problems sending notifications to your phone / account.  My email is jon[dot]sharratt[at]red-badger.com
