Windows Phone Review: Photo Booth

Photo Booth for Windows Phone

Sometimes there's a lot to be said about simplicity and the Windows Phone app Photo Booth is definitely a simple app. Photo Booth is a photography app that helps you build the classic photo booth picture strips.

The app's layout has the photo strip template taking center screen. Down below you have three button controls to save the image, access settings and view the about screen. Settings cover the photo strips border color (black or white) and the photo strip layout (1x4 or 2x2).

Once you decide the border and layout, you are ready to start building your photo strip. Just tap on the individual frame to add a photo. You have the option to capture a new image or open an existing image from your Pictures Hub. Once you have all your images set, just tap save and the photo strip is sent to your Pictures Hub.

You also have the option to apply a grayscale or sepia filter to your photos. All you need to do is tap/hold on an individual image to pull up the filter menu.

Photo Booth is a simple photography app for your Windows Phone that performs as billed. Could it have a few more bells and whistles? Sure, a few more filters, a few more templates, and the ability to share directly from the app would improve things.  But if all you need is an app to build photo booth styled picture strips, Photo Booth will do nicely.

There is a trial version (save feature disabled) available to let you try things out before you buy. The full version of Photo Booth will run you $.99 and you can find it here at the Windows Phone Marketplace.
