WM Marketplace for WM6.0, 6.1 & 6.5 (not in ROM) Now Available

For those who want to use Windows Marketplace for Mobile now and have an older device (Windows Mobile 6.0/6.1) or Windows Mobile 6.5 with the store not already on the in ROM, drellisdee over at PPC Geeks has managed to pull out the .CAB for the rest of us:

I made it from 23053 skymarket. Its for WWE only and only for devices that have a bootlauncher (IE no apache.) Let me know if it doesn't work on stock roms as its not signed as I'm not sure if signature is required but it will run on cooked roms with full kernel trust enabled.

Luckily my cooked WM6.5 ROM for the Snap did not have the store built in and so far it seems to be running just fine, as can be seen above. Basically the .CAB installs the link, which then hops to the store via your browser to download the latest store software.

So how's it working for you? Take the poll and let us know in comments! And remember that we're not officially expecting the Marketplace for older devices until next month.  Grab the file here at PPC Geeks.

am I missing something here? where's the link to the cab?

yeah, you did miss something ;-)

It's where it says "drellisdee over at PPC Geeks"

But to help out folks who are " hyperlink challenged" I'll make it even more obvious, lol

edit: links fixed :-P

was just wondering the same thing

says:

well Mr Mala"testy" seems your link goes to your ROM article, not to where the cab is located ;)

Touche.

Links are fixed. I need to stop drinking so early.

I'm normally not that hyperlink challenged, but I can't find the marketplace cab file anywhere on that link, or on xda.

I'll test this out if I ever feel like it.
I have enough stuff on my Vogue without the marketplace

Works great on my TP2.

Works on my TP 2 also but I don't see any way to tell it where to store the app. The only option at this point is to install and it goes into device memory. Not Cool! Most everyone wants to keep the device memory clean and install to Storage Card. It says Coming soon you can shop online with PC, maybe that will offer the option.
