WME @ MWC: SPB Mobile Shell 5.0

For you fans of SPB Mobile Shell out there, we're pleased to report that good things are coming in Version 5.0. They're not quite ready for you yet, but they're coming this year. The 3D animations are as smooth as butter, and the video doesn't do justice to how nice it looks on a screen as large as the HTC HD2. Peep the video after the break.

wow. another version with minor tweaks. throw the hd2 on sprint and i will cook my own ROM that will BLOW SPB out the water!

It looks nice, I admit. And I'd use it. But it still follows the old idea that smartphones have had for years. This is why I am interested in the work MS has going with WP7 and how that can be tweaked in the end.

Still good stuff for SPB, and If I had the HD2 I'd give this a go, though Sense is still good as well.

Well I should hope it's "smooth as butter" on the HD2!!
If a programmer manages to write something that isn't... Well, I'd be speechless :)

Now i need one of those!

I loved version 2.x on my 8525, have hated 3.x on my Treo Pro & Tilt2. So, they're skipping 4.x why? And what's different in 5.0 from the overly complex 3.x?

says:

I guess it's still worthwhile to post about shells and UI overlays, but is it really? All this stuff will be irrelevant in less than a year.

this looks pretty cool. i dont know anything about spb, does it cover all of WM?? unlike sense on the hd2 that just covers a few things, once you get deeper into the OS you can see the uglyness of WM come through, but is SPB designed to take care of all of WM??

says:

If looks are what you're going for, why do you have a WM phone in the first place?

says:

for the freedom and capabilites, noob. what a cop-out question

*yawn*

I didn't seen enough new and exiting features for them to slap a 5.0 sticker on this... Maybe 3.6 or something, but not 5.0...

says:

My wish is for it to be faster. The last thing I want is a lagging phone. Looks go though...
