Xbox Live: Zombies are now on teh Phone

Z0MB1ES!!1 (on teh ph0ne)

One thing is for sure – Xbox Live absolutely does not have enough grungy top-down zombie shooters. The situation just got a whole lot better though, as Z0MB1ES!!1 (on teh ph0ne) has crawled onto the Marketplace.

Z0MB1ES!!1 (on teh ph0ne) (a title that absolutely begs to be copy and pasted rather than typed) is the Windows Phone port of popular-‘cause-it’s-cheap Xbox 360 indie game I MAED A GAEM W1TH Z0MB1ES 1N IT!!1. Thankfully it includes a new game mode, 'Endless Zombies,' as well as the entirely new side-view shooter 'Time Viking.' It’s like two or three games for the price of one! Look past the intentionally basic yet chaotic visuals and you’ll find a challenging shooter with a nice sense of humor; just listen to the horrid but silly lyrical theme songs for proof. To learn more about the concept, check out our Xbox Live Developer Interview with the totally friendly and not indifferent creators at Ska Studios.

Z0MB1ES!!1 (on teh ph0ne) costs $2.99 and there is a free trial. Pick it up here on the Marketplace and help stop those zombies!

Also, don’t forget the Xbox Live Deal of the Week, Sally’s Salon Luxury Edition, is now on sale for $2.99.

Cool game and you get to support an indie developer.

Grab it to hold you over until Age of Zombies drops.

I think one of the things that made the game so popular on the XBOX was the super low price.  Wasn't it somewhere around $1?  That made the crude graphics somewhat endearing.

At $2.99, I think it will be a little more challenging to make sales.

So for those on the fence it does support fast app switching, it runs extremely well on my Samsung Focus, no dips in framerate, etc.  It is three games in one, so for $2.99 it's a good deal.  The theme song is epic, come on who doesn't like the song!  The console version didn't have achievments or leaderboards either.  I've played for about 20 minutes so far and already popped 3 achievments.
Really give the demo a shot, if you are into twin stick shooters you'll enjoy it. Now if we could just get Geometry Wars...

I second everything you say.

I just downloaded the trial for this game and i love it. fast paced, in sync with the music (which was really cool) and NO LAG. that's the biggest thing. the graphics are pretty high quality and the game is fast paced, but there is still no lag on my 1st gen samsung focus. it's a great game. i recommend it!

I too downloaded the trial. Fun game I just purchased Sally so I'll pick this game up in a week or so.

I have an issue where sometimes half the text disappears in the menu, and when that happens it causes issues with the fonts in-game too, which means it doesn't show my score or lives or anything like that.

Does anyone else find the virtual sticks a bit unresponsive? Rocket Riot's and indie game Square Off's seem a bit faster and easier to use to me.

I am still enjoying the game though.

I have this game for Xbox live and love it. Music, game, everything is pretty awsome but, it was $.99 and it's $3 on WP7.
I tried the demo, it's the same game but, just a portable one for 3 X the price but, has some other games that I cant test so, I dont know.
As soon as this one goes on sale, I'll buy it...
