Zombies Ate My Doctor, the undead invade the endless runner

Zombies Ate My Doctor

Zombies Ate My Doctor is a fast paced, endless runner game for Windows Phone 8 where you are racing through hospital halls, shooting up zombies and rescuing the local sheriff.

Graphics are well done, game play challenging and the game has a first person shooter element. Zombies Ate My Doctor makes a good first impression and is not a bad option to pass the time with.

Main Menu

Zombies Ate My Doctor’s main menu presents you with the common elements most games have. You can access the game’s settings, visit the game’s store, view your achievements, check out your inventory and jump into game play.

Zombies Ate My Doctor Menu and Settings

The game’s settings deal with muting the sound and choosing your game controls (screen swipes or using the tilt sensors).

As you play the game, you’ll earn coins that can be used in the Zombies Ate My Doctor’s Store. Store items include buying better weapons, stronger hospital beds, and character power-ups. You also have in-app purchase opportunities to buy coins so you can get a jump on things.

Zombies Ate My Doctor Missions and Store

As you purchase items, you can go into your inventory screen to choose which weapon and bed you would like to use. When you have everything set, tapping the play button sends you directly into game play.

Game Play

Game play with Zombies Ate My Doctor has you rushing Sheriff Kevin, the local sheriff, down hospital hallways in hopes of escaping alive. The hospital has been overrun with zombies, who incidentally ate the attending physician, nurses, orderlies and maintenance men.

You play the game from a first person point of view and have to switch lanes to pass through unlocked, green doors and avoid obstacles. If you hit a red door (locked) or obstacles scattered about the hospital the zombies will catch you and eat your brains.

Zombies Ate My Doctor Game Play

Another issue that you will have to deal with is the zombie hordes. Here is where the Sheriff and his weapon come in handy. You will need to tap on the zombies as you approach them to blast them into smithereens. Any zombies that evade your gunfire will hit the Sheriff, sapping him of a little health. When the health meter strikes zero, the zombies over take your efforts and, well, eat your brains.

The gaming screen has your health meter in the upper left corner, your score in the upper right and just below is your zombie kills and coins collected count.

As you make your run, you have several mission/achievements you can tackle. Tap the pause button on the game screen to pull up your mission list. You will also run across power-ups that will help improve your chances of surviving the zombie onslaught. Such as a caged to go around the hospital bed that crushes the zombies on contact.

Overall Impression

Zombies Ate My Doctor is an entertaining gaming option for Windows Phone 8. Game play is easy to pick up and the pace of the game keeps things challenging.

Zombies Ate My Doctor Game Over

One aspect of game play that keeps you on your toes is that the zombies have to be relatively close before you can shoot them. You usually have plenty of time to move left or right to avoid locked doors or obstacles but you’ll need to be a quick shot to survive this game. To add to the challenge of the game, some zombies require multiple shots before going down.

If you are a fan of the endless runner genre of games or simply looking for a fun game to add to your Windows Phone gaming library, Zombies Ate My Doctor is worth a try.

Zombies Ate My Doctor is a free, ad-supported game that is available for Windows Phone 8. You can find Zombies Ate My Doctor here in the Windows Phone Store.

Every phone gets heated badly while playing games extensively. Even my moms android phone gets heated while playing game. And Nokia's has polycarbonated shell so it will catch more heat.

Yea this game is awesome replacement. Much better than the candy crush clone -Candy Village! I thought that was good, but this is sooo much better. Thanks man.

What level are you in? 120 here, on Surface, not as far on phone. Waiting for last level pack. Easily my favorite game yet on WP.

Please also check out Sweets Mania Space Quest- a lot like Candy Crush but with its own unique style- beautiful- and with yesterday's update you can earn extra moves/lives, you don't have to purchase them as in Candy Crush or Frozen Free Fall (which is still an excellent game).

Seriously, when I play Modern Combat 4 in my Lumia 520, I find the developers of these games (TR2, Subway Surfers etc...) lazy enough to opitimize the game with few more lines of code. I blame the developers for the engines they use. I don't understand can't they see how much they are losing by alienating 512mb device users...?

Worst part is that 512mb users can't even comment on their games and apps otherwise the companies could realize the urge of such releases more easily.

Not available here in Brazil. :(

George, could you please mention about Brazil and how I can help when you contact some developer to review their games?? It will help a lot!!

People complaining about no 512Mb support need to move on and upgrade your phone lol....Do you complain that you cant play Xbox one or PS4 games on your 360 or PS3?

512Mb phones are old news..

have you thought that those who have a 512mb ram phone can't afford a better one, thus not being able upgrade our phones?

Please try to understand, an average consumer can't buy a new phone every year just for apps and games requirements. I don't think Xbox 360 or PS3 was released a year ago. Lumia 520 was released previous year here in India and most of the poeple I come across (inlcluding my friends) have 512mb devices. Doesn't mean those are cheap phones, Lumia 625, 720 etc cost fairly enough here. Moreover, no carrier choices here in India helps increase the original phone price go high unlike people with T-Mobile, Verizon and all those carrier dependent... and please don't forget about the marketshare of WP which has 512mb devices in majority.

Conclusion:

That's said, NOKIA and MSFT should stop releasing any 512mb device even if its cheaper otherwise let have these users access to those games, so called 1 GB ram required, WHICH CAN BE ACTUALLY PLAYED IN 512MB RAM.

Have you always been such a jerk mate? Not everybody can afford the 1gb phones and neither do we get them here on contract basis. Try being a bit considerate to others situation instead of being a jerk.

Nokia sells them, Microsoft says they're a valid device spec, therefore, they really should be supported out of the gate.

I came to WP8 b/c Moto abandonded support for my old Photon...and there were many apps I couldn't get b/c you had to be on ICS or higher...and let me tell you, it sucks.  As a consumer, you played by their rules, and you still get screwed over time and time again.  It isn't fun.

They have every right to be upset...they bought a WP8 phone that they could afford...and it can't play a ton of games.  Your Xbox One -> 360 example is invalid...those are new generations...just like the WP 8.1 hardware will be...a 512MB device is a current generation device, albeit, lower spec'd, but current generation.

The gap between the 512mb handsets and the 1gb ones is starting to look like WP7 vs WP8 and considering the fact that the 525'upcoming 630 all have 1gb ram M$ screwed over WP users again as no one will bother for 512mb support when the next gen has 1gb support.
The 512mb devices were sort of a failed experiment
Not regretting my Nexus 7 purchase one bit

Even I feel the same but then later i thought we don't buy phone for games. I don't y earlier ppl weren't that fond of games but as smartphones arrived it created a hype for all the games and such peer pressure and trend continued in ppl of playing even the craziest games on phone in this high graphics modern world. Of we want good games on phone we can better buy a psp or buy or download games on pc.

i will never again buy a lumia phone, first i had a lumia 900 with wp7 and then windows stopped supporting it...then i bought a lumia 620 the first wp8 phone and now i'm facing the same problem....microsoft and developers don'w support 512mb files....now if i buy a lumia 920 i need again to buy a lumia xxx that will come 2015 with wp9(wp8 won't get update to 9)....i'm very disappointed in microsoft and their lumias....lagdroids are also stupid phones, but i heard the nexus series are the best, without lag and the support from google for those devices is the best...must check this....microsoft destroyed nokia, there is no reason to support nokia beacuse the company has been sold to microsoft.......NOKIA was best,MICROSOFT is  worst....
