ZTE Tania hits Europe, ready for pre-order
We previously touched on ZTE handsets heading for Europe (and being the white label Windows Phone in France), and now it seems as though the ZTE Tania is ready for pre-order at Clove UK. The low-range handset is a fairly cheap option for those who don't require top specifications. The Tania will run a smooth experience as any other Windows Phone sporting a 1Ghz processor, but comes with limiting 4GB worth of storage. Then again, with a Zune subscription, storage wouldn't be a huge issue.
Other information on the device includes a 4.3" screen, 512MB RAM, 5MP camera (no FFC). You can pre-order your own at Clove UK for £249.99 (including VAT) unlocked.

This is where android can't compete, a $250 phone that gives a user a quick and smooth experience. A phone of that caliber with Android is a mess of a phone.

This isn't $249.99. It's £249.99 ie. $387.

point still stands in Euros or Dollars. Still dirt cheap for no contract full featured smartphone

it's around 300€ which is not too cheap for sort of a first gen device. My LG Optimus 7 used to cost only 185€ off contract here in Germany :D

Yeah agreed. This is a good looking device. Especially like that dotted design on the back. Nice.

"Then again, with a Zune subscription, storage wouldn't be a huge issue." Really? You think music takes up the majority of storage space? You do realize how much Xbox Live games takes up right? Zune Pass or not, your games and apps will eat that space up. 4GB sucks.

I don't think I even have 2GB worth of apps installed and I have quite a bit. If you don't like the phone don't buy it. Don't have to be ignorant and bash it in an article.

AND there is not such a thing as the zune pass in Europe. So 4GB really are not enogh IMO :(

Don't talk rubbish, the last I checked Britain was in Europe and we've got Zune pass, I've got it.

Even though I agree that the 4GB may fall a bit short for most people, I see where this phone can be successful: the exact same market Nokia aimed with the 710. People looking for a first smartphone and probably using a separate device for portable media will find this kind of thing very attractive. And I find the aesthetics good too, being the memory the only thing that'd put me off (still on a 1st gen with basically the same specs but 16GB and not feeling the need to upgrade).

ZTE should bring WP to their prepaid providers in the USA (i.e. boostmobile). I would like a prepaid unlimited plan with a Windows Phone for around $50/mo.
How much more would an 8/16GB model cost? In 2012?
