Zune Pass goes annual: $149.90 ($12.50 a month)

Well looky here! Evidently Microsoft has introduced some new plans for the Zune Pass. Whereas before it was just a monthly pass for $14.95 and included 10 song purchases, you can now do 3-month ($44.97) and more importantly, annually for $149.90.

The annual plan is the sweet one as $149.90 works out to $12.50 a month, which is a nice savings (basically get "2 months free").

You can sign up or upgrade now and may be something worth considering when you get your Windows Phone 7 device. As for myself...already went annual, not even a question.

Well when it comes to Aust I'll be getting mine. I love how I can download Playlist and such when using my friends account :D

Hopefully we get the 10-songs a month though I'm not holding my breathe...

Sweet, I'm glad they finally did this. I doubt they will, but it would be great if they offered a video plan as well.

I'm really hoping for a video plan as well. My bet is that's since "video" can range from 2 min music videos to 22min TV shows to full-length movies, it's a little more inhomogeneous therefore tougher to come with a uniform "plan".

This could be the case, though you see what netflix does so I think it's doable but it'll take time for them to work out all the licensing. These sorta media related copyright infested deals don't happen overnight.

I wouldn't be surprised if they start to roll out a $20 music+video Zune Pass at some point in 2011 though.
